Prez-PM meet dwells on peace

KATHMANDU: President Dr Ram Baran Yadav today inquired Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal about the government’s official version on the stalled peace and constitution-drafting processes.

The President had called the PM at his official residence in Shital Niwas to take stock of the ongoing political developments. “The President asked the PM about the government’s official version on the nearly obstructed peace process and the process of writing new constitution,” said Rajendra Dahal, press advisor of the President.

According to sources, the President had asked the PM about measures taken by the government to clear the obstacles on the way to the constitution writing process. He also asked the PM about the disputes about UNMIN’s. The PM in his reply said that he was making maximum effort and holding meetings to end the deadlock but he complained that the UCPN-M was not cooperating.

The President and the PM talked about the national politics for more than an hour.
