Prez to unveil govt programmes and policy on July 8

KATHMANDU: President Ram Baran Yadav will present government’s policy and programmes for the fiscal year 2015-16 at the Legislature-Parliament at 3 pm on Wednesday.

During on Saturday Parliament meeting, Speaker Subas Chandra Nembang read out the letter sent by President Yadav regarding the programme to unveil the government’s policy and programmes.

Stating that the meeting will begin at 3pm on July 8, Nembang ruled the House that all the lawmakers be present by 2:30pm.

During today’s Parliament meeting, Speaker Nembang also read out the letter from the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers that Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Bamdev Gautam has been deputed to look after Ministry of Agriculture Development portfolio.

Hari Prasad Parajuli resigned as minister for agriculture development on Thursday.

During today’s meeting, a proposal presented by NC Chief Whip Chinkaji Shrestha seeking to suspend the Sub-rule 4 of Rule 89 of the Constituent Assembly (Legislature-Parliament procedure) Regulations 2070 BS as per its Rule 158 was passed through majority.

Chairman of State Affairs Committee Dil Bahadur Gharti presented a report of the committee on Civil Service (Fourth Amendment) Bill 2072 BS to the House.

The Parliament also passed the Public Procurement (First Amendment) Ordinance 2071BS and Ordinance regarding the reconstruction of structures damaged by the earthquake 2072 BS presented by Minister for Law, Justice, Constituent Assembly and Parliamentary Affairs Narahari Acharya on behalf of Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Minister Sushil Koirala
