PM Oli inaugurates apple orchard in Manang

Manang, October 11

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli today stressed the need to modernise and commercialise agriculture in order to attract people to this sector.

The PM made this statement while inaugurating an apple orchard at Dingsyang Rural Municipality in Manang district.

He lauded the establishment of the orchard creating job opportunities at the local level. The orchard spread over 735 ropani land was established by the local Agro Manang Pvt Ltd with an investment of Rs 300 million. Informing the government this year would provide 100,000 apple saplings in grant to orcharders of mountainous districts, the PM said, “The government is ready to provide any sort of help to orcharders. It aims to develop agriculture.”

In another context, PM  Oli said the government had taken effective steps to curb corruption, a major hindrance to the development of a country. “Corruption brings misery to people. Anyone found involved in corruption will be booked. The government aims to achieve the goal of ‘Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepalis’ through good-governance.”

Oli directed Chief Minister of Gandaki Province Prithivi Subba Gurung to make arrangements to shift human settlements that are at risk of natural disasters in the province to safety.
