PM's attention drawn towards Rome Statute

RAMPUR, PALPA: The human rights activists from Palpa have drawn the attention of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba to endorse the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.

They sent a memorandum in the name of the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers (OPMCM) through District Administration Office in Palpa.

The representatives of INSEC, Human Rights Monitoring Group, Nepal Bar Association, Common Campaign for Peace, Human Rights Education Forum, National Human Rights Concern Centre and Palpa Development Centre presented the memo to Chief District Officer (CDO) Baburam Gautam.

A total of 119 countries have endorsed the Rome Statute in the world among which 19 Asian countries have endorsed it.
