RAMECHHAP: Kids of Saraswoti Lower Secondary School of Majhuwa in Ramechhap are yet to get last year's scholarship.

District Education Office had disbursed the stipend amount for dalit and meritorious students five months ago but the school is yet to dispense that.

Jhagad Bahadur Nepali, former chairman, school management committee, said headmaster Shankar Shrestha had kept the money with him for five months. Local guardians have accused the headmaster of misusing the amount.

The DEO had released scholarship amount for 14 dalit quotas, 32 female student quotas and one meritorious student.

Meanwhile, Dilnath Puri, a district education office staffer, said the headmasters would be punished if they were found to be withholding the amount.
