Prithvi Highway obstruction as microbus knocks down 3 pedestrians in Dhading

KATHMANDU: Vehicular movement along the Prithvi Highway was halted after a speeding microbus knocked down three persons, killing two of them and injuring one at Simle in Dhading district this afternoon.

Khanikhola-based Area Police Office has identified the deceased as Bandana Pariyar and Ganga Thapa and the injured as Sushma Thapa.

Following the incident, the infuriated crowd of people torched the vehicle at around 2:45 pm today, subsequently, interrupting the vehicular movement along the highway, said police.

In the incident, one of the injured died on the spot while another died on the way to a health instutition in Kathmandu, according to police.

Critically injured Sushma Thapa have been rushed to the Thapathali-based Norvic Hospital in Kathmandu for further treatment, said police.

Meanwhile, police have detained the light four-wheeler driver for further investigation into the case.
