BHOJPUR: A house was damaged by a massive fire in Arun Rural Municipality-2 of Bhojpur district, on Friday evening.

The house belonging to Gopal Karki at Machung caught fire and gutted food grains, clothes, among others properties in the house yesterday.

According to ward chair Bhupendra Rana, properties worth Rs 1.2 million were gutted in the blaze. He said the cause of the blaze is yet to be ascertained.

Local representatives including the ward chair visited the Karki family and provided Rs 5,000 cash, two sacks of rice, four packages of cooking oil, spices among others basic commodities as relief items, ward vice-chairperson Binita Dhakal said.
