MYAGDI: Property worth around Rs 1.5 million was destroyed as a two-storey house caught fire at Bhumethan in Darbang-2 of Myagdi district in the wee hours Friday.

The house belonging to Lalit Man Pun had caught fire at around 3 am today, the District Police Office informed.

Furniture, clothing and other miscellaneous stuffs including materials stored at a grocery shop in the house were destroyed. Likewise, valuables belonging to some renters were also destroyed, informed police.

Police along with the locals had contained the fire in two hours.

The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.

Meanwhile, police are investigating into the case.
