JANAKPURDHAM: A group of armed robbers robbed a house in Lakkar VDC-2 of Dhanusha district on Friday night.

According to police, the armed robbers brandishing weapons barged into the house of Sherchan Yadav and decamped with cash and valuables worth around Rs 800,000.

Police said that the robbers fired five rounds in the air and also thrashed Yadav, his wife and other family members.

The dacoits looted Rs 300,000 in cash and gold and silver oranments worth around Rs 500,000, a local Bishweshwor Yadav said.

Police have started a manhunt to nab the miscreants, the Area Police Office, Khajuri said.
