GAUSHALA, MAHOTTARI: A heavy rainfall followed by hailstorm on Thursday night damaged property and crops worth thousands of rupees in Mahottari district, said the District Agricultural Development Office.

The storm blew away roofs of dozens of houses and also destroyed the houses, shops and animal sheds.

Crops cultivated on hundreds of hectares of land have been damaged by the hailstorm, said farmers, adding that the power supply has been disconnected in over a dozen villages as a result.
