Province 3 cabinet approves purchase of emergency vehicles

HETAUDA: A cabinet meeting of Province 3 chaired by Chief Minister Dormani Poudel has taken a decision to approve the purchase of ambulances, vehicles to carry the deceased, and fire engines in 50 local levels of the district.

The vehicles would be purchased by the local levels as per necessity and as provisioned in the law.

According to Kailash Dhungel, Province Spokesperson and the Minister for Internal Affairs and Planning, the provincial government will provide grants to buying the vehicles.

Dhungel said that the province government had received requests for the purchase of 37 ambulances, six fire engines, and seven vehicles to carry the deceased. He added that authority was provided to the local levels to make the purchases in line with their demands.

Meanwhile, the meeting appointed Yamuna Kandel Khanal as a member of the policy and planning commission of the province.

The cabinet meeting also decided to recommend to the federal government to provide the authority to Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City to develop an 'auto-village' in ward no. 15 of the sub-metropolis.
