Province 3 govt rolls out health programme

With a view to ensuring easy access to health services for the poor, the government of Province 3 has launched its Chief Minister People Health Examination Programme from today.
The programme implemented by the Social Development Ministry was inaugurated today by federal lawmaker and former agriculture minister Haribol Gajurel, amidst a ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, Gajurel dwelt on the need to have regular health check ups in order to be safe from diseases.
Besides, he also advised the people to take healthy and hygienic food to remain healthy.
According to Public Health Officer Kumar Prasad Dahal, around 2,000 people of the target community in Kamalamai Municipality will have their health check-up done by the end of the fiscal, in the first phase.
“Based on the recommendation of the ward office, the target demography will be entitled to 16 types of health services free of cost,” he said.
Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr Sumitra Gautam said only the ones beyond 30 years of age would be eligible for the programme. “As per the programme, a patient can have tests of his lungs, liver, urine, blood pressure, obesity, kidney, among others.”
With Kamalamai Municipality, the programme will also be introduced in Bhaktapur and Makawanpur districts.
