Punish for Bara police chief: MJF
BARA: Madhesi Janadhikar Forum and Madhesi Student Forum (MSF), Bara, today demanded that police personnel allegedly involved in the murder of Rambabu Sahani of Ramnagar, Shreenagar Bairiya be brought to book.
In a joint press release, Bara MJF chairman Chumanbabu Kewat and MSF chairman Santosh Patel have demanded stern against the Bara police chief for his alleged involvement in killing an innocent person.
However, the transportation strike called by the victim's next of kin was called off from Saturday night.
Vehicular movement resumed after an agreement was reached to forward their demand to the Home Ministry and punish the guilty after thorough investigation.
Laxman, the father of the dead, lamented that his son was killed for no apparent reason.
Laxman has demanded a probe into the murder, compensation to the family and strict action against the culprit.
Laxman has claimed that his son was arrested by the police and was killed later in Bigunj. He also added that his son had gone to Birgunj to meet his brother. He, further, claimed that his son had no affiliation with any political groups.
District Police Office Bara, however, maintained that Sahani was killed last Sunday during a police operation.
