Dahal gets Modi's invite as congratulations pour in

KATHMANDU: Congratulations have poured in form newly elected Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal after his election to the top executive position of the nation on Wednesday afternoon.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi telephoned Dahal some minutes after the Parliament announced Dahal's victory in the PM poll and congratulated him. Modi posted a tweet mentioning that he assured the new Nepali PM a full support of India and invited him for a visit.

Meanwhile, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Wu Chuntai reached Dahal's personal residence in Baluwatar and congratulated him today itself.

The Parliament had elected him the Prime Minister today. It has been learned that he would be sworn in on Thursday.
