Python rescued from house in Chitwan
RATNANAGAR, CHITWAN: A rare python has been rescued from within a house at Bachhauli of Ratnanagar Municipality-7 in Chitwan district.
A team of foresters from the National Trust for Nature Conservation (NTNC) rescued the tropical snake from inside the kitchen of a house at Bachhauli on Sunday. The residents of the household had informed NTNC when they discovered the python lodged inside the kitchen.
The non-poisonous reptile was later released inside Chitwan National Park (CNP), according to NTNC conservation officer Santosh Bhattarai.
Bhattarai said, in cases when such reptiles are found, some locals bring them on their own while others inform the authorities.
Rare animals inhabiting the CNP, sometimes stray into the nearby settlements. The park rescues such animals and restores them to their natural habitats, as stated by the CNP's information officer Nurendra Aryal.
