Quake-damaged school gets new building

Dhading, November 19

Bhanubhakta Lower Secondary School at Ratmate, Deurali-4, in Dhading yesterday received a new six-room building, thanks to Nepalis residing in San Francisco in the USA.

The school earlier had a eight-room building that was damaged in the April 26, 2015 earthquake. Bay Area Nepali Women Organisation had provided Rs 3 million for the reconstruction of the quake-damaged school.

According to principal Deepak Bharati, the number of students in the school since then, had reduced to a mere 30 from 150 after they started running classes under the open sky.

Lawmaker Rajya Laxmi Shrestha handed over the key of the new building to Chairperson of the School Management Committee amid a programme held at the school today. She urged the school administration to work on improving  the quality of education and create enabling environment for drop-out students to rejoin school.
