Quake-ravaged school building constructed

Kavre, June 23

Mukta Nepal, an organisation, has constructed a building of Mahakali Secondary School damaged by the 2015 earthquakes at Mandan Deupur of Kavre.

The organisation spent Rs 1.3 million to complete the building with four rooms and handed it over to the community recently.

Mukta Nepal Chair Alina Rudals  said she was elated after German nationals constructed the school building damaged by the earthquakes some four years ago.

“We have taken initiatives to construct the school building destroyed by the devastating quakes,” she added. She further said they were intrinsically motivated to assist with construction of the school infrastructure.

Chairman at Mukta Nepal Raj Kumar Khatri said the new school building would significantly help in the development of education.

Similarly, School Management Committee Chair Dhawa Dorjee Lama said they were very excited as the school building was constructed four years after its destruction.

Head teacher Shiva Kumar Poudel said the organisation had helped the school in a difficult situation with construction of the building.

Mukta Nepal had also constructed a building of Sapneshwor Secondary School at Kavre’s Nala

last year.
