Only 510 earthquake victims have so far received the third instalment of housing grant for re-construction of their houses, in Makawanpur.

A total of 22,471 quake victims had earlier signed agreement with the government for housing grant.

According to the National Reconstruction Authority’s District Project Implementation Unit, Makawanpur, a total of 21,955 quake victims received the first instalment amount, while 2,316 victims had taken the second tranche of the grant. The NRA district body informed that only 510 victims had received the third instalment amount.

It also said construction of 1,162 houses had already been completed. The authority said it had earlier issued a notice for the second time to register names. Only 1,643 had registered.
