Quota for school with zero result

HETAUDA, July 9

District Education Office Makawanpur has awarded a school in the district that showed zero pass result in this year’s SLC examinations one more secondary teacher’s quota.

The office offered a teacher’s quota to Kalika Secondary School in Raksing though even not a single student passed the examination this year.

Earlier, the office had decided to take action against schools that achieved less than 15 per cent pass in the test by cutting off grant. However, we have started to offer teacher’s quota from this year, said District Education Officer Ganesh Prasad Poudel.

According to him, a recent meeting of District Education Committee decided to offer secondary teacher’s quota to three schools with very poor SLC result.

“Taking action against schools with low SLC result will not be justified as the schools are being run by primary teachers.

Hence, we decided to award the schools by offering a secondary quota teacher from this year,” said Poudel.

According to him, the schools achieved poor result due to lack of secondary teachers. Hence, the schools should be provided teachers’ quota besides other facilities. Otherwise, the result will only get worse,” he said.
