Ramechhap govt offices without chiefs

Ramechhap, October 16

Government offices in Ramechhap are without chiefs as they have left for their homes four days before the Tihar holidays started.

Majority of the government offices are headless after their chiefs left for their homes to celebrate Tihar without notice. Some chiefs, who went home for Dashain holidays, are yet to report to their office in the district.

Early leaving of the offices by chiefs has hit the service seekers very hard. All services from the government offices have been disrupted.

Those who left offices four days before the Tihar holidays include Local Development Officer Rajendra Kumar KC, Deputy Superintendent of Police Kumodh Dhungel, Dr Prakash Prasad Sah of the district health office, district prison chief Chiranjivee Thapa, National Reconstruction Ramechhap Chief Rishiraj Acharya, among others.

Chiefs of the six rural municipalities and head of the Area Administration Office Lapchane did not report to their duty today also. One person each has been given the responsibility of acting chiefs in all of these offices.

Civil society member Harisharan Subedi said service seekers had to return empty-handed due to the absence of office chiefs.

Chief District Officer Dilip Lamichhane, however, expressed ignorance about the absence of the chiefs in government offices.
