Pokhara, August 26 :

A security guard of the Department of Gynaecology at the Western Regional Hospital (Pokhara), 21-year-old Bhim Bahadur Chhetri, made an attempt to rape a woman, who had come to a the hospital to look after a patient, last night.

The 21-year-old security guard, who was under the influence of alcohol, could not rape the waiter as the latter cried for help.

The security guard was handed over to the police immediately after the incident. He has been kept at the Ward Police Office, Rambazaar.

Chief at the Western Regional Hospital, Dr Kalu Sharma, confirming the rape attempt, said Chhetri has been dismissed from his job.

According to a source at the hospital, security guard Chhetri made the attempt under the influence of hospital. Chhetri turned the lights off and tried to rape me, said the woman. “He escaped when I cried aloud and other people came to me.”
