Rayamajhi panel visits hospitals

Kathmandu, May 11:

The High-level Judicial Investigation Commission, which was formed on May 5 to probe the state suppression of the mass movement, began its work today by visiting Bir Hospital and Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH).

Chairman of the commission Krishna Jung Rayamajhi, and members Dr Kiran Shrestha and Ram Kumar Shrestha visited the hospitals. The team also plans to visit some more hospitals tomorrow.

Dr Kiran Shrestha said the team will also visit hospitals of the Army, Police and Armed Police Forces.

The team collected details of the activists of the movement, who are undergoing treatment at the Bir and TUTH hospitals.

The team inquired about the condition of 15-year-old Mukesh Kayastha, who has been admitted to the Bir Hospital and is in a critical condition even after a bullet lodged on his head was pulled out. He has been suffering from meningitis.
