SANKHUWASABHA: The municipal staff and the ward chairpersons have distributed the social security allowances at the doorsteps of the recipients in Chainpur Municipality of Sankhuwasabha district.

The differently-abled, single women and the elderly citizens have received the security allowances from the local body representatives who were elected during the recently held local level elections.

The municipal office distributed a total of Rs 38.3 million.

A 107-year-old Bir Bahadur Tamang also received Rs 16,000 at his doorstep.

Bharat Kumar Khatri, mayor of Chainpur, said the chairpersons in all 11 wards distributed more than 70 per cent of the security allowances to those entitled to receive them.
