Reconciliators reach Ramechhap villages

A reconciliation programme, which was launched to settle disputes in the villages, has begun in all the VDCs and a municipality in Ramechhap.

A trained reconciliation group has reached the villages of the district to resolve disputes at the local level.

A local non-governmental organisation Tamakoshi Sewa Committee had conducted a training programme among 296 persons from all the VDCs and the municipality of the district.

Director Govinda Prasad Ghimire of Tamakoshi Sewa Committee said that as many as six reconciliators in each VDC and 12 in the municipalities were sent under the community reconciliation programme supported by the Asian Foundation.

He said that the reconciliation programme had started in 45 VDCs and one municipality at once.

The reconciliation centre was established in the concerned VDC’s office building and the concerned municipality’s building. Coordinator Janak Rawal, reconciliator of Dimipokhari VDC, said they had to play the facilitators’ role to settle the dispute in the villages.

Similarly, reconciliator Aanganuri Sherpa of Priti VDC said that the people come to the centre to resolve problems.

Meanwhile, the district court has also kept reconciliation in its priority list.

Ramechhap Bar Association Vice-chairman Yadav Dahal said the issues were discussed in the court’s reconciliation centre first for reconciliation.
