Record of poor families in Ramechhap public
Ramechhap, July 12
The government has made public the preliminary data of poor families inc. Data shows there are 9,636 families under the poverty line in the district.
The government has intensified data collection to prepare a final list of poor families to distribute identity cards in the district.
Local Development Officer Dinesh Raj Panta said the district has a total of 43,900 households as per a survey in 2013. However, the economic status of 2,691 families was not ascertained in the previous survey.
The District Development Committee has mobilised 70 data collectors and 10 supervisors for the purpose.
A meeting of the Poor Families’ Identification District Coordination Committee has appealed to all district folks to file complaints if their families have been missed from the list.
However, political leaders of the district complained that some of the poor families were missed in the list while rich households were included.
Chief District Officer of Ramechhap Prakash Chandra Adhikari said that they would incorporate the names of those missed out in the new list.
