Red Cross to build quake resistant houses

Sindhulimadhi, Sept 14

Nepal Red Cross Society is going to launch a safe reconstruction programme in the worst quake-hit areas of five different VDCs in Sindhuli.

With the aid of Swiss Government, Nepal Red Cross Society is going to build earthquake resistant houses for quake victims at Majhuwa, Sitalpati, Old Jhagajholi, Ratmata and Kuseshwor VDCs of the district.

Sources at Red Cross said Red Cross would manage a team of technicians for the construction of quake resistant houses.Meanwhile, Nimesh Shrestha said that houses for 4,050 quake victim families of the VDCs would be built within three months.

Red Cross has managed as many as 150 technician teams for the same. Shrestha, further said that they have been preparing to construct as many as nine model quake resistant houses for quake victims.
