Reds clash leave Maoist dead

Siraha, October 22:

A Maoist cadre died when a clash ensued between CPN-UML and Maoist cadres in Pokharbhinda-9 of Siraha district today. At least five people were injured in the incident.

Fifty-year-old Kapleshwor Yadav of Pokharbhinda-9, who was injured in the clash, died at the Lahan Nursing Home this evening, said the Ward Police Office, Lahan.

A dispute over the formation of a users’ group for road construction at the village took an ugly turn and the two groups clashed. Earlier yesterday, both the groups fought over the same issue.

Three CPN-UML cadres of Pokharbhinda- 9 — Sanjeev Yadav, Jitendra Yadav and Shivaram Yadav — were arrested on the charge of involvement in the feud. Jaleshwor Yadav, Pandav Yadav and Chatur Yadav are the injured Maoist cadres. They are undergoing treatment at the nursing home, while the others are being treated in Janakpur.
