Regressive forces ‘rising’

KATHMANDU:

CPN-Maoist leader Krishna Bahadur Mahara on Saturday said the government, which has not been able to chase peace further in a concerted manner, has started coming under the influence of regressive forces. The concerted bid to render the peace process uncertain can culminate in the victory of the regressive forces in the country, Mahara said at a function organised by a sister organisation of the CPN-UML. “We came for talks to bring about peace. But the efforts to render the peace process uncertain can serve the purpose of the regressive elements,” Mahara said. Mahara also referred to the way the regressive elements pointed out at the need to uphold nationalism and democracy in the past while they worked at cross-purposes.
