Republic NC’s goal: KC
Nuwakot, September 9 :
Central member of Nepali Congress, Arjun Narsingh KC, today claimed that the political goal of NC was the establishment of a republic in the country.
“The NC’s wishy-washy policy about monarchy passed by the 11th convention of the party has already led the party towards the path of republic,” KC said, adding that the agenda on monarchy would be settled by calling a general committee meeting or holding a convention before going for election to a constituent assembly.
KC was speaking to journalists on the occasion of the 93rd birth anniversary of BP Koirala in Bidur.
He stressed the need for forming a parallel talks team from the government since the Maoists have already formed a new talks team headed by chairperson Prachanda.
He alleged that the Maoists were not following their commitment to the 12-point agreement or the ceasefire code of conduct.
KC also inaugurated a women’s gathering organised by the Nepal Trade Union Congress (Nuwakot).
