Resham Chaudhary's transfer to another jail possible: Minister Shah

DHANGADHI: Minister for Internal Affairs and Law of Province 7 government, Prakash Bahadur Shah said that the prime suspect of Tikapur carnage, Resham Lal Chaudhary, who is on a hunger strike, could be transferred to another prison.

In response to queries of journalists at a public commitment disclosure programme organised at the Ministry on Monday, Minister Shah, also the Spokesperson of provincial government said, Chaudhary could be transferred to another prison if his actions were to challenge laws, jeopardise social harmony and create unrest.

Chaudhary won the federal parliamentary election from Kailali Constituency-1 as a candidate of the Rastriya Janata Party-Nepal. He presented himself before the court some days ago after around 30 months since the occurrence of Tikapur carnage. Chaudhary along with 24 other accused in the Tikapur murder, who are in Kailali prison as per the court ruling, have started hunger strike in jail since last Sunday.

On the occasion, Minister Shah made public his 18-point commitments including improvement of physical infrastructure, enforcement of modern IT automated working system, arrangement of information disclosure through website, mechanising direct contact between people and home minister for complaint redress, promoting pro-public administration and initiating a campaign 'Improved law and order: base of province prosperity'.
