Resolve Madhes issues at the earliest: President to govt, parties

KATHMANDU: President Dr Ram Baran Yadav has publicly urged the Government of Nepal and political leadership to resolve the issues of Madhes at the earliest.

Stressing on the essence of national unity, the Head of the State, who shared the same stage with Deputy Prime

Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Kamal Thapa during the 7th International General Assembly and Global

Conference of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) here in Kathmandu today, said he would like to request the DPM to convey the message to the government and the parties.

President Dr Yadav recalled that he had been asking the stakeholders to address the concerns of the dissenting

Madhesi forces for six months but his remarks were dubbed as controversial then.

These are problems within the country, he added.

We went on to say that the Madhesis and Pahadis are brothers and he as the President was wearing daura suruwal to build up national unity.
