Right to revolt sought in statute

Kathmandu, June 22 :

Central committee member of the CPN-Maoist, Pampha Bhushal, today demanded a

provision of right to revolt in the new constitution.

Addressing an interaction on the role of the media in Constituent Assembly organised by the Third World Media Network Nepal, Bhushal said: “No Nepali must be suppressed by another

in the name of ethnicity or religion or any other pretext in the future. The new constitution should guarantee this. If not, it should have a provision that allows people to revolt against such suppression.”

Nepali Congress leader Narahari Acharya said the seven political parties, the Maoists and civil society members should work together to draft a ‘New Nepal’.

Addressing another programme in the capital, Bhushal said children were never abducted and recruited in the Maoist army.

Speaking at a ‘Round table discussion on Protection of Child Rights in the process of Peace talks’ organised by Child Workers Concern Nepal (CWIN) and the Institute of Human Rights

and Communication Nepal, Bhusal said: “Teachers and educational institutions have spread rumours of forceful abductions.”
