Biratnagar, November 27

The blacktopping of 74 kilometre road section in Biratnagar metropolis began from today in Morang.

The blacktoping of the road section in the metropolis began under Regional Urban Development Project with Asian Development Bank’s loan support. Chinese Jhongdeang Construction Beijing was entrusted with the contract of Rs 2.63 billion.

According to metropolis Mayor Bhim Parajuli, the contractor company will be blacktopping a total of 74 kilometres road section, besides fitting water pipes. The contractor has signed an agreement to complete the project within two years.

According to Project Manager Bharat Neupane, they will blacktop five different road sections in the first phase.

Kanchan Kesliya road section of Biratnagar-4, Bargachhi-Chandani Chowk to Siromani Path of DPS, East from DDC Chowk to Pushpalal Chowk and road section from Paropakarghat to Samratmarga and Biratnagar Rani Leather Factory will be blacktopped in the first phase.

Parajuli informed the contractor is supposed to complete blacktopping of 15 kilometres in three months and 45 kilometres in a year.
