Robber dies while fleeing

Lekhnath, December 23:

A robber was killed while his accomplice was injured after they fell from a cliff near Bijaypur River while trying to flee after looting household goods from a local’s house in Lekhnath on Thursday night. The deceased has not been identified yet, the Kaski District Police Office said.

Jeewan Ghale, 35, of Chitwan, who was injured in the incident, is undergoing treatment in the Western Regional Hospital at Pokhara, police said. The duo, along with four other robbers were fleeing the scene after looting gold and jewellery from the house of Rana Bahadur Gurung at Sakneri in Lekhnath.

Gurung, who was hurt in the robbers’ attack, is undergoing treatment in the Western Regional Ho-spital. Police recovered the valuables from the body of the deceased.
