Rosin worth Rs 700,000 gutted by fire

BAITADI: Rosin worth Rs 700,000 turned into ashes after a fire broke out in a rosin collection centre of Himal Rosin Company at Melauli VDC-1 in Baitadi district on Friday night.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mohan Prasad Pokharel said that a total of 250 units of rosin, popularly known as Khoto, were destroyed in the fire.

DSP Pokharel further said that the building wall of Dwarikadevi Memorial Foundation was also partially damaged in the incident.

Police Head Constable Krishna Chandra and resin collector Dal Bahadur Ale have also sustained minor injuries while dousing the fire, Pokharel added.

A fire engine from the Dashrathchand Municipality brought the fire under control. The reason behind the incident is not revealed so far.
