At a time when all the poll candidates are busy intensifying drives to woo voters, a candidate contesting the election under the PR system in Mahottari is undergoing training meant for the temporary police personnel.

PR candidate of Rastriya Prajantra Party Ranju Devi astonished all when she appeared for the training programme of the temporary police personnel. Twenty-eight-year-old Ranju of Sarpallo VDC-1 developed liking for the police force as her husband was a policeman. Though Ranju has no interest in politics, her party included her name in the closed-list to fulfil the mandatory quota set aside for women. However, her party’s move was not enough to make her interested in politics.

When SP Purna Singh Khadka was informed about her joining temporary police, he said her appointment in the police force would be declared void once the fact of being associated with a political party is proved.
