RPP-N warns against PLA-NA integration
Kathmandu, January 28:
The Rastriya Prajatantra Party Nepal today submitted an eight-point memorandum to Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala urging the seven-party alliance to concentrate on the greater interests of the country.
The party has urged the PM and the parties to rise above partisan interests and warned against integration of the Maoist fighters into the Nepal Army saying it would be counter-productive for the country.
“An army with Left ideology and schooling cannot be integrated with the Nepal Army, which is always prepared to protect the country from both internal as well as external attacks,” the memorandum said.
The party has also asked the government to control criminal activities in the country at a time when the nation is gearing towards the CA election. “The government has been a total failure in maintaining law and order situation, controlling criminal activities and the price hike,” the memorandum stated.
