RPP to help govt hold polls on schedule
Kathmandu, July 5:
The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) today announced its “unconditional” support to the government to hold constituent assembly elections scheduled on November 22.
“We welcome the government’s commitment to hold the constituent assembly polls on time,” RPP spokesperson Parsuram Khapung told this daily today. The meeting of the party held today at the party office, Chabahil, labelled the government’s policies and programmes as “positive but hollow”.
The party criticised the government for failing to address the issues raised by the Tarai people and the Janajatis. “We are concerned with the way the government is ignoring the demands of the people of Tarai and Janajatis,” Khapung said, adding that the government was treating them as “trade unionists”.
The party’s meeting will end tomorrow, he added.
