BIRATNAGAR: An unidentified group has stolen Rs 2.5 million from a parked vehicle at Budhahat in Biratnagar on Tuesday.

The unidentified group smashed the windowpane of the vehicle (Ko 1 Ta 8019) and made off with the cash that was kept in a bag.

The cash had reportedly been withdrawn from the Biratangar-based Machhapuchhre Bank , according to the District Police Office, Morang.

The incident took place when Suman Limbu, a staff of Terhathum-based Mount Development Bank and driver Bir Bahadur Mabuhang, had gone to quench their thirst nearby.

"Investigation into the case is underway as police were on duty there and CCTV cameras have been installed in the area," said DSP Yogendra Singh Thapa, District Police office, Morang.
