Rs 3 billion budget to be proposed for Bharatpur Metropolitan

CHITWAN: The first Municipal Council of Bharatpur Metropolitian is set to begin from Friday with a proposed budget of Rs 3 billion.

Press Coordinator of Mayor Renu Dahal, Suresh Chandra Adhikari said that the council will set policies, programmes and laws as per the constitutional spirit of the local level government.

According to Adhikari, the proposed budget has been allocated prioritising infrastructural development. “The construction of metropolitan ringroad and link road will begin this year in coordination with Central and Provincial governments,” Adhikari said.

The council is said to propose plans regarding construction of a city hall, international stadium in Chitwan, three bridges in Narayani river among others.

The council will be inaugurated by CPN Maoist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
