Rs 900,000 looted in Dhangadhi armed robbery

DHANGADHI: A person was robbed of Rs 900,000 cash in an armed robbery in Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City-1 in Kailali district on Sunday morning.

Nirmal Karki (36) of Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City-2 was coming back after withdrawing the amount from Sidhartha Bank in Old Customs Road when an unidentified group of two individuals on a motorcycle shot at him and made off with his money bag, according to Indra Bahadur Malla, Chief of Area Police Office, Dhangadhi

Sarki, who sustained bullet injury to his hand and underarms, is in critical condintion and undergoing treatment at the Dhangadhi-based Seti Hospital.

It has been learnt that Sarki is a staff of Global IME Bank.

Meanwhile, further investigation into the case is underway and a search has been launched for the perpetrators, informed Superintendent of Police (SP) Binod Ghimire at District Police Office, Kailali.
