Sain area located in far-flung Himali Rural Municipality of Bajura is in the shadows due to lack of publicity.

The area, which has maximum potential for cultivation of medicinal herbs along with its natural beauty, is neglected with no one publicising the area. The rural municipality’s Chair Govinda Bahadur Malla said the area, in the midst of Humla, Bajura and Bajhang districts, is endowed with natural beauty. “The area can lure tourists if enough publicity is generated,” he said.

Representatives of the rural municipality had carried out feasibility study for promotion of the area.

According to the rural municipality, it was very difficult to access the area due to lack of road. Malla said the rural municipality has taken the initiatives to develop infrastructure in the area.

Locals said the entire area was being degraded due to lack of conservation of the beautiful lake there and other areas rich in natural beauty. They said the state had not done much to introduce the area and its natural beauty to the outside world.

It takes a week to reach Sain Area from Bajura headquarters Martadi.
