Sanitation concern raised

KATHMANDU: Speakers at a programme on Friday demanded establishing right to sanitation and to develop policies for addressing the sanitation problem, particularly in favour of marginalised people. Rajendra Aryal, president, Federation of Drinking Water and Sanitation Users Nepal, said sanitation was still a neglected sector. According to Water Aid Nepal, 10,500 children under the age of five lose their lives annually to diarrhoea, mainly caused by lack of sanitation and safe drinking water.
