All the local levels, offices under them and educational institutions of Saptari were closed today to mourn the death of five persons in a bus accident in Hanumannagar Kankalini Municipality on Friday night

Saptari District Coordination Committee Chief Prabhakar Yadav said all eighteen local levels, offices under them and educational institutions were closed to mourn the death of those killed in the accident.

A bus ferrying 64 devotees from Dakneswori Municipality had met with an accident. The devotees were on the way home after offering prayers at Sunsari’s Barahakshetra and attending Chatara fair. Those killed were all from Dakneswori Municipality. Forty-eight passengers injured in the incident are undergoing treatment at various hospitals.

Province 2 Minister Gyanendra Kumar Yadav said Province 2 government would provide Rs one lakh to each victim’s family.

Similarly, Dakneswori Municipality had provided Rs 25,000 each to the victims’ families as funeral expenses.
