BHOJPUR: A woman reportedly succumbed to a bite of an unknown creature in Kushaha area of Surunga Municipality-5 in Saptari district on Tuesday night.

The deceased has been identified as Phoolmati Chaudhary, a wife of local resident Raj Kumar Chaudhary. she appeared to be in her early 50s.

Chaudhary was bitten by an unknown living being while she was sleeping at her home last night at around 2:30 am today, the Kadarbona-based Area Police Office quoted her relatives as saying.

She breathed her last on the way to a hospital in Lahan of Siraha district, police added.

The body of the deceased has been kept at the Rau Hospital in Lahan for the postmortem, the DPO informed.

Meanwhile, the investigation into the case is underway, said police.
