Sarangkot’s master plan

The Sarangkot Religious Area Development Committee (SRADC) has prepared a master plan to develop Sarangkot as a religious destination. A 26-feet tall Shiva temple will be constructed at a location at an altitude of 1,592 metre for the project, Lok Bahadur Thapa, the SRADC chairman, said at a press meet here today. The temple will have a jyotirlinga inside it and a 25-feet tall statue of Lord Shiva on top of it. The plan envisions construction of temples of other gods and goddesses. The cost of the project has been estimated at Rs 200 million and it will be completed by 2007. The SRADC is also planning to renovate the existing view tower. After the completion of the master plan, it is expected that over 2.50 million tourists will visit the spot.
