Sattar re-elected to head Muslim Association Nepal

KATHMANDU: Abdul Sattar has been re-elected to head the Muslim Association Nepal, a sister wing of Nepali Congress (NC).

A 52-member working committee under the leadership of Sattar was elected unopposed on Sunday night following the association's 2nd general convention held on April 28 and 29 in Kathmandu.

The remaining 23 members in the 75-member working committee are yet to be nominated.

Of the 43 districts in which the association has its network, around 500 representatives from 41 districts took part in the general convention.

Speaking to the Rastriya Samachar Samiti, Sattar said that he would work to seek Muslims' representation in the political rank and file during his term. He also vowed to spread the association's network in all 75 districts and play a crucial role in the party's victory.
