SC discusses five bills

KATHMANDU: A full court meeting of Supreme Court Justices held today discussed five different bills sought by the government.

“The full court meeting has given consent to promulgate new Act in relation to the Mediation Centres,” said a SC Justice who was one of the participants, adding that other issues were still under discussion.

The meeting was attended by Chief Justice Min Bahadur Rayamajhi and other SC Justices. The government has recently sought the apex court consent over the promulgation of new acts regarding contempt of court, mediation centre, commercial benches, summary cases and judicial administration.

“The meeting slated for tomorrow will take decision on the remaining four issues,” said SC spokesperson Hemanta Rawal. In order to prepare draft in these sectors, the Ministry of Law and Justice had sought the apex court consent.
