KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court on Tuesday issued a show cause notice to the government regarding provisions in the Police and Army Acts and Rules that allow the demotion of personnel. A single bench of Justice Tahir Ali Ansari issued the notice following a hearing on the Public Interest Litigation filed by advocate Achyut Prasad Kharel. The bench has given 15 days to the government authorities to explain the provisions.
