Kathmandu, March 23:

Responding to a writ petition that was filed against the government, the Supreme Court today directed the Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation to revive the Airlines Operating Certificate (AOC) of Alpine Airlines Private Limited. A bench of justices Ram Prasad Shrestha and Badri Kumar Basnet directed the Ministry and the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal to reinstate the AOC and allow it to launch international flights. The bench directed the Ministry to provide a one-year timeframe for the job. Three years ago, the ministry had cancelled the AOC of Alpine Airlines, charging it with not abiding by the accord between the authorities and the Airlines.
